How can I find very smooth red wines ?

I need to find good Merlot and Cabernet wines. No oak taste, just smooth.

Sometimes the label will tell you if a wine is oaked or unoaked. Also ask the person doing the selling and see if there is tasting available.
Chile has some very smooth wines as does Austrailia. In addition to Merlot’s and Cabs you may also like to consider a Shiraz.
